Devotional Scripture: Jeremiah Chapter 30 | Focus verses: 22 & 11
Today we are digging into Jeremiah chapter 30 for our daily bread. There are two main verses that I am highlighting in today's devotional.
" You shall be My people, And I will be your God. ”
What a powerful statement this is! And on the surface, many want the Lord to be their God but without the ties that bind. Many want the luxury of having the creator God as their selected and appointed God because why not? He created everything, right? Right! But beneath the surface, unpacking chapter 30 of Jeremiah, one of the components of the Creator God being our God as outlined in the latter portion of verse 11 reads...
"But I will correct you in justice, And I will not let you go altogether unpunished"
As the chapter unfolds they're (Israel) reestablished, however, it's important to note that our God, Elohim, the creator God, is a just God who delivers not only to the wicked but to those who've accepted Him and have been called by His name.
There is so many marvelous things about being called, appointed and identified as the people of God but there are kingdom statutes and principles that were established to assist us in living our best kingdom lives, amazingly so, we won't always abide by those laws and principles and let's not even consider our immediate understanding of them all but what we can determine infallibly is that they were created knowing that in our humanity we will still grow!
I find comfort in knowing that we do not serve a God who only wants to be notably recognized as a deity but our God intricately designed us to need Him in more than material ways. He is not comparable to deities that require sacrifices in exchange for power but we serve a God who in His infinite wisdom is the creator of power!
Hallelujah! Thank You, El Shaddai for being our God!
Here is today's spiritual workout question:
What areas of your life currently, do you find it difficult to receive correction from the Lord and how/where did this originate?
After you have completed your response, email it to me at tash@purposefullyprophetic.net and respond in the comment section "done". Please feel free to add any additional responses as well.
P.S., when answering these spiritual workout questions it is extremely important that you respond honestly so that we can work through those areas together!
