When Adonai Returns...

Devotional Scripture: Isaiah 40:10

Today's devotion is coming from the book of Isaiah chapter 40 verse 10 and it says...

Behold, the Lord God shall come [a]with a strong hand, And His arm shall rule for Him; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His [b]work before Him.

Often times we think long about the return of the Son of Man but overlook significant elements of His return. Isaiah 40:10 reminds us to be diligent in thought, action and deed. When Adonai returns, He intends to come upon His people quickly and with a reward in hand. He will NOT return alone, but the scriptures say that He shall come back with His angels to compensate His chosen people according to the measure of their lives. This is a sobering scripture!

It's a concrete reminder that when we go before the judgment seat of God our personal books will open and there will be a presentation of our beginning through our end and at the end of that presentation we each will receive what our life has earned us...
