Titled, Why?

ree

Throughout corporate and non-corporate America alike there are titles given among a variety of fields and specialties. To which many are highly sought after and esteemed.

The sacrifice and grit required to make CEO or General Manager certainly takes its toll on every aspect of one’s life.

Why then do we ascribe to such positions of power and authority? What do they offer us internally and externally that validates the journey?

Sadly, we see this same behavior pattern in the ekkkesia of God. What a shame.

A title is defined as a name that describes someone’s position or job.

The Bible says in Acts 10:34-35 that God is no respecter of persons nor shows partiality to man.

Yet the race to title placement has become overrated!

The nature of this blog post is a blend of family-work life and the paradigm of kingdom living. In my respect, I do not consider one without the other. So as I reflect on the individual reasonings one may consider while working their way up the hierarchical chain, I legitimately wonder who does this benefit?

When the General Manager of Walmart decided that he/she would expend themselves to no end for this earthly promotion, how did they respond to this question? Was this a decision made with family in mind, wealth building, and legacy establishment… what could have attributed to such a decision?

Likewise, when one zero in on the sights of a title in God’s Church what are their thoughts? Could it be to break the generational yokes from times past, nepotism, stardom, and opportunity at a platform, what is attributing to these decisions?

When I search scripture, many of our biblical writers and disciples of the way noted that their choice while freely made was only at the hand of indebtedness. Their pursuit of God, not a title was due to the saving and redemptive work that had been so paramount in their lives.

A great example is the chosen 12, have you ever paid attention to the truth that they never knew that they would become Apostles of Jesus Christ? They only had the desire to be learned of Him, and in that they were exalted! MY God!

Modern-day titles in many walks of life have warped the minds of God’s people… How do we know this? Because we were never created to be self-sustaining. God always willed that we would live among each other in fellowship and harmony yet what we see, know and experience from corporate America on down to the very pews many sit on is sects that have set and established formal and informal sanctions that govern our interactions.

Oh, how this must displease God!

Do you desire a title? If so, why? What does it benefit you and have you measured its cost?

When God gave man the ability to discern spiritual things, He did not do it with the intent that we would exploit it's divinity.

I'm reminded that when God called those ordained by spirit they were often clueless to their spiritual DNA, with the exception of those who were raised up with God's purpose. Take Saul for example, he was a great Pharisee, had absolutely no desire to be an Apostle of Jesus Christ, until God uncovered Paul's debt! From that moment forward he did not work to validate his debt but rather the life he led was the validity of the title with which he held.

Somewhere along the lines title-dom became lofty! With it came unnecessary invocation of power.

Hear with clarity that I am not discrediting the authority in leadership or the need for it, yet, is it being applied as God would have it?

Titles applied by man come along with the standards of man no matter the sector of life it is applied. Titles applied by God are garments, adorned with the rules and governing regulations enforced by heaven and God's will.

Can I make a confession before I end this writing? If the title is not issued and enforced by God, well, I DON'T WANT IT!

Signed,

An Apostle who never thought or considered being one!

MY God!!! This is some wise spiritual insight!

Titles!!!!!! They cause distortion in the mindset if not handled with spiritual care! I myself, as been called by Spirit is ENOUGH for me to PERFORM with the Title being with weight! I can agree with not EVER considering myself being called an Apostle!!!! Thank you Lord for considering me!!

This is written with the Spirit of Excellency!!

Replying to

Distortion INDEED! So much so that a whole generation of leaders have become UNRECOGNIZABLE! Wow! God has instructions that we would do well to follow. It’s NEVER-FAILING!
