Devotional | Deuteronomy Chapter 6
Today's devotional is coming from Deuteronomy chapter 6.
Deuteronomy 6 denotes that the ruling precept is to love the Lord your God, with all your heart with all your mind, and with all your strength.
This command encapsulates just how powerful love is, sadly some have not arrived at the divine revelation that God shares with us a wisdom that will enable the ease of every other divine statute and mitzvah (commandment) given by God!
Here, God says, if you would love him completely with 3 very important elements, heart, mind, and strength everything else that you should do to display your worship, service, and fear to Him will follow.
How often is it that when we naturally love something we share its existence with others? In Deuteronomy 6, we see that the aforementioned example would be that of the same with God.
If we love Him completely as He desires with our hearts, mind, and strength, we would keep His words in our hearts, teach them diligently to our children, discuss them in our homes, as we travel, in our lying down, as we awake, bind them in sacred places that we forget not our first love...
This actionable display of love promotes a life of obedience to God, which is a direct prerequisite for the blessings that God has for our lives in Him!
Elohim, the One, the God who is incomparable to any other in any way!
It's sad to say that we live in a world where there is a great amount of lovelessness. I often reflect on how throughout scripture God does not use the word love to express the meaning of love, but rather He uses the action of love to express its meaning.
I hope you caught that!
To say, we love one another, and moments later, do something that's not very lovable, is a prime example of how the Western world has overlooked the true meaning, and essence of the four-letter word, LOVE!
Maybe you've heard the saying that change begins in the mind will it truly do some say that you can't change overnight but if you change your mind overnight, your actions will follow!
Interestingly, God says the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God, with all your heart with all your mind, and with all your strength. When we began to live our lives by this principle, understanding that God made everything, and if He made all things and we're to love the things that He loves and said hate the things that He hates I strongly believe that we will reposition our understanding of love...
Spiritual Workout Question: Answer below ⬇️ in the comments!
Can you honestly say that you've purposed to display love God's way? If yes, briefly describe this transition as you once knew it to be compared to what you now understand. If no, what's your great challenge?
