Devotion | John 14:26, 1 Corinthians 12:11, John 16:13
For today's devotion, our focus scripture is John 14:26 and it reads...
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”
I began to hear the Holy Spirit say that this 👆🏾is His will! So He took me to 1st Corinthians 12:11 to further examine that He indeed has a WILL, it reads...
“But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
As I continued to meditate, He took me to John 16:13 to finalize His message concerning how His will is developed and distributed and it says...
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
The third person of the Godhead, God the Holy Spirit wants to make note for some and to remind others of His will.
The Holy Spirit wills to :
Help us
Teach us all things
Bring into remembrance all that Jesus has said to us.
A WILL is defined as: someone's determination to do what is necessary...
It is necessary that the Spirit of God help us, teach us all things, and to bring to our rememberance all things.
💎The will and responsibility of God, the Holy Spirit as a helper is that of someone with great skill, DETERMINED to assist us!
💎 The will and responsibility of the Holy Spirit, as our advocate is His DETERMINATION to offer support, strength, council and intercession for us.
💎The will of the Holy Spirit, as our comforter is determined as that of one who is summoned to the side of another to support the mind in distress or danger.
💎The will of the Holy Spirit, as our teacher is to instruct us in the knowledge of that which was before ignorant to us.
The focus scripture, uses the word ALL, this signifies, without limitation of any kind.
BRING TO REMEMBRANCE means restore to consciousness, to make real and present.
As we continue to yield to the will of the Holy Spirit the final scripture in John 16:13 is to make relevant that those things to be taught and brought to remembrance were first heard from the Father to testify of Jesus!!
Not to harm us, confuse us, or to leave us in ignorance...
As we wrap up this devotional I hear the Lord say...
Let Me teach you, let Me help comfort and advocate for you WITHOUT LIMITATION, let Me restore back to present those things that you've previously learned and heard.
Submission does not come without first TRUST!
This seems to be the crux of the believer... before we desire the will of God it's of greater importance that we first trust Him!
Why is this the first step and why is it so imperative?
Because what profits you to know the will of God and all that He wills to do for your life if you don't TRUST HIM TO DO IT?
Divorce the idea of "I know what's best for me" and we can also apply that to those we love and govern because it is ONLY GOD who knows what's best for all of HIS CREATION!
SUBMISSION REQUIRES TRUST
Did you know that we can "want" to submit but yet not know truly how to trust?
Trust is CONFIDENT, this means if there is trust there is NO DOUBT.
Let me encourage you with this, ANY TIME I'm at a crossroads of decision-making I remind myself that GOD COULD SWEAR BY NO ONE SO HE SWORE BY HIMSELF!!
You can't be more confident than that!! Hallelujah 🙌🏾
