Silent by Force, Not by Choice...

Devotional Scripture: Luke Chapter 1 | Focus verse/s: 20
Today's devotional study is coming from the book of Luke, chapter 1 specifically focused on verse 20 and it reads...
"But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”
How often do we allow our words or our tongues rather to be the cause of our own demise? How often that you know of has your tongue robbed you of the very blessing that you prayed for? Interestingly enough, the angel Gabriel shut the mouth of Zecharias! God had declared a mighty move in the earth that John the Baptist was commissioned and created for, that Zacharias could have sabotaged not only with his fiery tongue but with his doubtfulness.
It's important to discern when to keep silent concerning a matter. Could it be in these times that we should immediately pray concerning our unbelief?
The sad reality is we may not fully comprehend or have a realistic idea of the amount of times that our lack of silence changed the trajectory concerning a move of God in our lives. And the compassion that God has for us, in that He's not paraded our delayed destinies in our faces....
Would it be too difficult to simply say "thank you" and be it as according to what You say as Mary did?
What would you lose if you believed God for greatness concerning your life..?

Have you ever been able to identify a time where your tongue caused you to forfeit your blessing? If so, what did you learn from it? If not, write about a circumstance that you personally know of.
