DISCERNING YAHWEH AS LORD

The name Yahweh in Hebrew is translated as Lord. It’s noted as the sacred, personal name of Israel’s God.

Yahweh is commonly scribed as YHWH which are the four consonants of the Tetragrammaton.

The discovery of the many names of God is to causing a greater development of relational intimacy with God that cannot otherwise be obtained.

Knowing God in His many facets fosters a personal communion with Him that simply  acknowledging Him as God will not allow.

Sadly, many cannot relate to who God is because they have yet to personalize Him. He is not simply “a God” but He’s “your God”. The only God who chose us for our benefit and not His own.

When we look at the history of deities in general and apply the aforementioned statement, false gods choose us for their benefit. They cannot service themselves without a willing vessel to possess.

Our God made all things in Him without the NEED or HELP of man, in fact, because of His goodness as He created He designed things specifically for us to assist Him with. NOT BECAUSE HE HAD TO BUT RATHER BECAUSE HE WANTED TO!

Let take a look at the word Lord: Lord is not a name but rather a title. The name Yahweh has the title of Lord. Lord is defined as someone or something having power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler.

Now, as well apply this understanding let’s note here that our Lord Yahweh is not the equivalent of a man-made, man-appointed Lord whose power and authority has been DELEGATED!

Our Lord Yahweh is the originator of power and authority. As a matter of fact in His wisdom those terms, their meaning and functions were created.

Now, because of our fallen nature we tend to negatively connote this term as a means to oppose its jurisdiction in our lives notwithstanding Yahweh is JUST, SOVEREIGN, RIGHTEOUS AND TRUE.

His inability to do evil separates Him for every other self-proclaimed lord or lord-like figure perpetuating an imitated rendition of the power, authority, influence and rulership that exists within the Godhead.

Knowing God as Yahweh, Lord or the authoritarian, all powerful ruler of your life allows His unfailing wisdom to govern your every day, every moment affairs.

God does not desire for us to prostitute Him as was done in the wilderness… He has called for a people to truly know Him intimately, experientially to a point that we would invite Him into every sphere and domain of our lives even though He’s already there.

How many lords do you know that has hallowed put a whole people into Himself and promised them the riches of His kingdom, gave them is only Son as a propitiation for their sin, missteps, and iniquities allow them to run off fondle with other gods yet still welcomes them back with open arms?

I know but ONE, His name is YAHWEH!
