The Purposed Community

My devotional reading today is from John 16 with an emphasis on verse 31. It amazes me how just like the disciples it takes many of us exploit after exploit, sign after sign, promise fulfilled and prayer answered for those same words spoken by Jesus to His disciples to ring out in our spirits “ DO YOU NOW BELIEVE”!!

We really don’t need anything miracle, sign or wonder! We don’t even need another answered prayer! God IS, who He has always been to and for us. What I’ve come to realize is, it’s our lust for tangibility that we need another visible or tangible proof of God’s Godship and divinity in our lives and in the lives of the inhabitants of earth.

While this verse may seem like Jesus was praising them for finally getting it, it was actually a rebuke that after everything, they still need something else to prove what He had been revealing all along!
