THE EFFECTS OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Most recently, I’ve been engaged in conversation that clearly outlines how demonic oppression plagues a bloodline. But let’s further explore the multifaceted channels of spiritual warfare and its effects.

There is a thin line between medical science and spiritual and supernal truth that often is overlooked, misunderstood, and sometimes flat-out shunned.

Most of us at some time or another have heard the term “hereditary”. This term has been used to blanket demonic oppression that infiltrates and wreaks havoc on bloodlines.

Before we explore the term hereditary, please ponder Exodus‬ ‭20‬:‭5‬ ‭

“you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,”

and John‬ ‭9‬:‭2‬

“And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?””

Now take a look at what medical science defines as hereditary before we move on.

HEREDITARY:

• genetically passed or capable of being passed from parent to offspring.

• characteristic of or fostered by one's predecessors

• of a kind established by tradition

In a biblical context, hereditary means:

the concept of physical and spiritual inheritance, where traits, responsibilities, and consequences are passed down through generations. This includes the physical transmission

Of course, generational warfare does not have to look like cancer, autoimmune diseases, autism, dementia, Alzheimer’s, premature death, and barrenness. It can also be expressed in generational or trans generational violence, poverty, lack, homelessness, homosexuality to name a few.

Scripture tells us in II Corinthians 2:11 “lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

In this particular chapter, we are looking at unforgiveness as the device of warning, how much more can we be oppressed by demonic origins?

At some point, we must understand that what we experience in our seen realm was first experienced and developed in God’s unseen realm. As a matter of fact, Satan is skilled in understanding the legal openings that he needs to permit him into our lives.

It should never be acceptable simply because medical sciences have given license for demonic oppression to overthrow generations of people rather than exploring the spiritual implications of disobedience, transgressions, iniquity, and ignorance.

Through this very avenue warfare is not only individual but has become generational.

It may be forward thinking that we as believers must correlate all things from a tripartite perspective to fully understand the whos, what’s, and how’s.

Let’s now explore the word “generational” so that we can parallel the effects of “hereditary” isms with the ideal of warfare in mind.

GENERATIONAL:

• to or characteristic of all the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively.

• relating to the different generations of a particular family.

• something related to or characteristic of a particular generation of people.

• all the people of about the same age within a society or within a particular family, or the usual period of time from a person's birth to the birth of his or her children

As we look upon society today, if we are gazing with a clear perspective we can see with unveiled eyes the effects of spiritual warfare and how it has progressed from one generation to the next.

The unfortunate truth is that we’ve merely examined the crime rate, death toll, mental health crisis’ and excessive drug use as individual occurrences of will and bad influence but we are remiss not to consider other factorial origins wreaking havoc from nation to nation let alone from the domestic sphere.

We can’t achieve effective resolution without realizing the spiritual and supernal factors that are largely overlooked.

Let’s now have a look at the word:

TERRITORIAL:

• relating to the ownership of an area of land or sea.

• relating to a particular territory, district, or locality.

• of or relating to an assigned or preempted area.

• of or relating to land or water that is owned or controlled by a government.

Here is another elemental factor that we would do well to consider when simplifying a problem to a specific nation, city, community, or region. For many decades, news influences have reported by dividing statistics that organize a particular issue and break the data down by: race, age group, nationality, and territory. But at what point do we begin to ask why? Do we blindly agree that these things are just accepted and acceptable in these areas or within these parameters? If so, why? Why are they accepted and what makes them acceptable? When we dig deeper we find that the underlying principle complaint is spiritual or supernal in nature.

As this topic takes up space in your mind, ask yourself at what point do we recognize that there are unseen principalities, powers, rulers, and wicked heavenlies that we allow to superimpose our seen realm?

At what point do we look at our family, bloodline, community, culture, and nation and think there has to be more to the cause of what’s plaguing us?

Ephesians 6:12 says

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

We have in our divine constitution the mystery that reveals the true cause of the conditions we experience in our world today.

In close, we must understand there are many avenues the enemy uses to oppress us and while some may be due to bloodline, generational, and territorial iniquity we cannot overlook standalone sin, disobedience, and the glory of God.

Whichever truth applies we must not forget that there are unseen forces that ride upon the choices we make.
