THE EASE OF DENIAL

ree

DEVOTION | 2 Timothy 2:12 KJV

“if we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:”

Take a moment to consider how quickly we can and have denied Christ in our day-to-day lives, whether as a new convert or even as a seasoned saint…

Naturally, we have been conditioned not to consider the personhood of the Godhead which makes today’s subject an even greater possibility.

Before we get into a bit of word study, let’s talk about the obvious for a moment. This verse of scripture outlines a “CONDITIONAL COVENANT”.

In Similitude of Christ!

DEVOTION | 1 CORINTHIANS 11:1 AMP

“Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.”

‭‭

How do we imitate those who imitate Christ? First, we must consider the character of Christ to discern if we’re indeed,d imitating Christ-like character, behavior, and integrity.

To imitate anything or anyone for that matter there must be a level of study of the thing we desire to imitate.

CULTIVATING A HEART OF WISDOM

ree

DEVOTION | PSALMS 90:12 NKJV

So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.

It's no secret that no man knows the time, date, or hour of his/her departure from our earthly tents yet the Psalmist encourages us to number our days. Sounds contradictory right? It certainly could without the proper context. He is telling us to acknowledge that our time cannot be numbered and we should develop a heart (mind) of wisdom because it cannot be numbered.

We learn or rather are taught to number our days by understanding that this life is temporal but the next no matter its destination is eternal.

Time is held in the hand and mind of God so thoughtless and careless living promotes unpreparedness for what's to come. We gain or cultivate a heart (mind) of wisdom by understanding God's mind on the matter of eternity!

FREE, YET NOT FREE…

Devotion | 1 Corinthians 9:19 AMP

“For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to everyone, so that I may win more [for Christ].”

How often do we consider how God desires us to be in servitude to one another?

The Kingdom of God is set up and established by servants who therefore minister to one another continually.

Our ability to serve justifies our call! Many believers of the way or “Christ followers” experience a great pitfall when they fail to make themselves low.
